#Myth: Babies with excessive crying mean something is definitely wrong #Truth: When babies cry excessively it does not always and necessarily mean they are sick or in pain Reasons: There are a lot of reasons why babies cry excessively. In general, it requires a healthy energy to fuel a loud cry for long. If your baby does not have fever, passive behaviour, drowsiness, sluggish movements of limbs, fast breathing, rashes, bluish skin, bleeding or open injury and other medical related symptoms this excessive crying is safe and it is a mean of communication between babies and parents. Basically they are feeling uncomfortable and upset. Common triggers include: - feeling hungry - wet nappy - too warm / too cold - colic - gassy and needing to burp - sleep deprivation - in need of cuddling and touch - over-stimulated/under-stimulated - in pain (eg. teething) Tips: Always check for temperature, signs of illnesses and unnoticeable pain before jumping into any conclusion.
